Welcome to Rawson Village; the gateway to the Walhalla & Mountain Rivers region. Set on 15 acres of native bushland, Rawson Village provides the perfect base for exploring this wonderful region. We have a range of accommodation options available and are able to provide information on what to see and do in our region.
All our staff are able to assist you with booking adventure packages; enjoy a trip on the Walhalla Goldfields Railway, gain an insight into the history of the Long Tunnel Extended Goldmine, or spend a few hours on a 4WD tour of the Walhalla ghost towns - checkout the number of Friday the 13th's this year. Or simply, go for a walk and enjoy the beauty of this area.
Spring is upon us and the spring fields of native wildflowers emerge on the slopes of Mt St Gwinear. At Mt St Gwinear you can take in the views across the Thomson and Aberfeldy River valleys from the View Point. Walhalla looks wonderful this time of the year.
Come and discover the "One Natural Plateau, Two Cool Mountains". We are ideally placed for your visit to both snowfields of Mt Baw Baw and Mt St Gwinear. Now that the South Face Road has been opened, Mt Baw Baw is only 35 minutes away. Mt St Gwinear is only 20 minutes away and is an ideal family outing. Make sure you get a copy of the "One Natural Plateau, Two Cool Mountains" brochure for our reception office.
Even though the weather is getting cooler, there are still plenty of great bushwalking tracks to explore. From Mt Erica, you can take the short Beech Gully nature walk or walk to Mushroom Rocks along the Australian Alps Walking Track. The South Face Road will take you to the Mt Baw Baw national park - a 35 minute drive from Rawson Village with spectacular views along the way.
